By exposing the children to various challenges and experiments, we tap on their curiosity to discover how things work through simple investigations.

We provide a wide range of opportunities for students to express themselves creatively through various mediums of art, as well as our comprehensive music programme.

A powerful way for children to develop their communication skills and confidence, as well as expressing their imagination.
Pat’s Schoolhouse sees its students as active, interested, and capable learners, and it has embraced an inquiry-embedded play approach to teaching and learning. This enables children to gain information, skills, and dispositions for holistic development, as well as experience the joy of learning, which fosters curiosity, creativity, and confidence.
Pat’s philosophy is founded on this approach. We believe that play is a natural learning environment for children as it is safe and familiar to them. It begins with students thinking about something interesting or intriguing in curriculum material, then developing questions about it and continuing meaningful inquiries with teacher facilitation to discover the answers.
Our approach centres meticulously on developing deliberate, meaningful, and thought-provoking inquiry-embedded play-based learning experiences to promote children’s holistic development, as per the constructivist approach to play.
Music is essential for a child’s growth. Music not only promotes the development of motor, verbal, cognitive, and social abilities, but it also boosts confidence and instils discipline. It is carefully interwoven into all learning areas at Pat’s Schoolhouse in order to encourage and extend children’s imaginations. Our in-house music professionals introduce our children to music via songs, stories, rhymes, games, movement, and the use of percussion instruments. All of Pat’s co-teachers are equipped with basic music skills, allowing them to engage the children via music in all of their learning experiences. This provides our students with opportunities to participate in group music creation in a fun and engaging learning setting.
Since 1988, we have been the pioneer of the Bilingual Immersion Core Curriculum. We believe that learning should be enjoyable, hands-on, and intellectually challenging.
Both the English and Mandarin teachers at Pat’s Schoolhouse work together in the same classroom, co-owning the holistic development of the children in their care. The co-teachers collaborate to develop a teaching plan that incorporates and delivers themes, subjects, and topics in a coherent and immersive bilingual environment. This approach provides children with equal exposure to English and Mandarin, boosting language learning at an early age by encouraging them to communicate in context throughout the day.
